sea-land logistics
Sector evolution
Over the last twenty years, port and dry port logistics has undergone profound organizational and management transformations as a result of the relevant growth in demand and technological innovations occurred in the transportation and IT sectors.
Integrated logistics management
The management of logistics processes from an integrated perspective - no longer distinguished by sectors, supply chains or individual methods of handling trade flows – is divided into a multimodal structure and it now requires a strategic system management approach.
This must take place through a radical reorganization of the governance systems of logistics nodes (ports, dry ports, inland ports) and of the interaction of these ones with the corporate world:
- a. setting the trajectories of industrial research on critical elements that allow the activation of collaborative relationships;
- b. experimentally developing innovations, new organizational solutions and industrial prototypes;
- c. creating training courses aimed at developing skills and specialised profiles in these industries.
